Strasburg
On Saturday we took the boys to Strasburg, Pennsylvania to ride the Strasburg Railroad in honor of their 3rd birthdays! I can’t believe they are turning 3 this year!!
They were soooo excited when they saw the train station. We’d hyped it up to them and they were literally dancing around.
However, they got freaked out before we pulled out of the station. They were standing near the engine looking at it and it blew its whistled. Duncan must have jumped 3 feet and turned and ran screaming towards me. Not a good start.
This would be Duncan’s “I think I’m scared” look.
Eventually they settled down, although it took a while.
We got off at the picnic area for lunch, which included birthday cupcakes.
All “the boys” had fun on the playground equipment.
The beautiful Lancaster county countryside
We were there an hour and then the next train picked us up.
From there we went to the Choo Choo Barn, which was a huge hit for the boys. It is a display of model trains in action. We finished up our day with dinner at The Strasburg Creamery. Strasburg is definitely a fun place to take kids, particularly those who are train-crazy like my boys. We had a great day full of memory making!
Super great shots, D. Sounds like such a nice day. Now, I’m wanting to take a trip up there w/ our gang. Maybe we’ll plan a trip this summer.
Looks like your boys are identical twins? my grand daughters are identical although I can tell the difference most of the time. They have different voices and different mannerisms. your little ones are cute kids.
Looks like you all had fun, despite the crazy-windy day we had up here. The Choo Choo Barn is still a favorite in our household. We went twice last year.
Happy Birthday D & O! 🙂
Oh, and if you are ever in the area the two Friday’s before Christmas, you can bring a canned good item to donate for free admission! (for the Choo Choo Barn)
oh, how sweet are your twins? it’s so much fun to see other twins in pictures. as a twin, it fascinates me. wow, your two really look a lot alike!
and what a beautiful place you all went. it looks so lush and green. i’ve always heard that about pennsylvania in general. beautiful photos! i’m really very impressed with your work.
and how cool that you used to have the camera i’m getting! {or have it now… can’t remember what you said.} if it is what you have now, i really look forward to getting it! the photos are gorgeous… although i know you have more to do with that than the camera. i’m just saying i look forward to the added versatility i will have with the camera upgrade.
Awesome! I love all the pictures…I can’t believe the boys are going to be 3! Ahhhhh!
What a great adventure!
Awww little boys and trains. I am actually looking forward to that again with Kade. The big boys have kinda outgrown trians. I don’t know if your boys like Thomas the Train but we took ours to Day out with Thomas here and it was a HUGE hit.
