Meeting Anne

October 8, 2010

I discovered Anne way back in my early blogging days. She was one of my first “blog friends.” I’ve been reading her blog since her 6-year-old Max was just a toddler, and following her through the birth of two more cute boys and a major move. She even thoughtfully bought me wooden train whistles and shipped them to me last year when she knew I was looking for them!

So, when Anne emailed last month and said she was coming to the Baltimore area and asked if we could meet, I said yes!

We decided to meet at the National Zoo. I had wanted to take the boys to the zoo this fall anyway and thought being outdoors would probably the best place for 5 active boys.

It was great to finally meet Anne and her adorable crew (Liam didn’t make it into the pictures, as he was in the stroller most of the time). The boys hit it off right away. Her Evan is just a bit older than Duncan and Owen and just as active, so they immediately had a blast.

The boys loved seeing the animals. Duncan’s favorite was the monkeys. Owen liked the lions. The very large elephant poop was also very exciting to them.

It was great meeting you in real life, Anne!

And no, Duncan wasn’t picking his nose in that last picture, but it was the best one of all three of them looking at the camera.

Looks like the animals were active today. Great shots. What a gorgeous day for the zoo!!
Your boys look more like Josh as they grow.

It was SO great to meet you Danielle!!! It was a fun filled day, the whole way back Evan was talking about the boys saying, “… that boy in the red shirt [or white shirt{even though it was really grey}…what was his name again?” I’d tell him and he’d say, “oh, yeah Duncan [or Owen]” 🙂
Fun day! You are doing so great with three…you make it look so easy balancing 3 year old twins and a newborn! I would be a total wreck by the time I got to the zoo…ha, come to think of it I probably was a sweaty mess after booking it from the train station to the zoo.
    Oh well.
It was a GREAT day…and I’ll e-mail you that pic of us today.

Cool, thanks about the picture! It was great meeting you too. Maybe if there’s a next time we’ll be able to work it so we can SIT and chat a bit more as opposed to chasing down crazy boys, ha ha! But it was fun!
