My Blurb Book

March 8, 2010

On Saturday, my Blurb book arrived in the mail. I was first inspired to do this by Megan over at Domestic Life who blogged about her Blurb book a few years ago. This is my second time getting a year’s worth of pictures printed into a beautiful book at the end of the year. The result is definitely easier, more attractive, and more compact than trying to remember to order prints periodically and stuff them into an oversized album. I try to work on it a little throughout the year, a month at a time, so that at the end of the year it’s not so overwhelming.

I also love the idea my Blurb books are always on file in my account so that if anything happened to them (a fire, Sharpie, or water damage) I’d simply have to order another one.

Here’s a few snaps of my Blurb book for 2009:

Oh Danielle, this is amazing… I so need to do this!

I love this. I’ve been stressing about making John’s scrapbook. He’s 16 mos. and I still haven’t gotten to it yet. But lately, I’m thinking of just putting his hospital bracelet and other trinkets in a box and doing a digital book. I think it will be much easier and like you said, not so bulky.

I also like how you have your whole family in the photos and have captured the year itself.

This gives me great inspiration especially when I can see that you’ve done it and that it is possible 🙂 I am going to check out Blurb. 🙂

Oh I love it! I’ve wanted to do this since I saw it on Megan’s blog, too. Maybe now that we have a digital. 🙂

Wow, this is beautiful. I always think I would love to do this, but then remember my pictures aren’t so gorgeous and book worthy. (my kids are though, so I need to reconsider :).

What website did you have this made through, Danielle? I try to do mine all at Kodak.

The website is blurb.com (there’s a link in the post) and you download their software called “BookSmark” for free to layout and publish the book.
