Memorial Day

May 28, 2009

On Memorial Day we decided to head out on an outdoor adventure. First we decided to go canoeing at Eden Mill. This was our first time taking the boys and they did great! Deer Creek was calm and beautiful, perfect for a first-time excursion. At one point we pulled off to a grassy area and had lunch, before putting back in and exploring some more.

Then we went to Kilgore Falls. Being a holiday, the place was a bit crowded. Duncan loved splashing in the water and throwing river rocks, but for some reason, Owen resisted. But we still had fun, and Duncan and Owen practically ran the approximately half mile trail both there and back! We had a blast together and are so excited we can all enjoy outdoor stuff like this together!

So we also went to Eden Mill, and as we pulled in, we were planning to put the boat in and noticed that the ‘put-in’ was occupied, so carried on to the one further up. How did i not realize that it was YOU?! Great minds think alike…

I was able to explore both of these places for a class I took through the Harford County Board of Ed two summers before moving. They are both beautiful! What a joy to be able to share them with your boys already!
