Danielle & Josh

Last night we got all dressed up and went to Mountain Branch Grille & Pub for our anniversary dinner. Before leaving, we got some celebratory pictures. Josh had sent me on a scavenger hunt the day before. The result of the hunt were these beautiful sunflowers!

Sunflowers & Me

We started dinner off with a most delicious hot crab and artichoke dip. Divine! Josh ordered Chicken Chesapeake and I ordered Seared Scallops Provencal. My meal was described as “Jumbo sea scallops served over coconut risotto with fresh pineapple salsa and grilled asparagus.” It was good and summery, but a little too sweet overall. A nice change from something I’d usually get, though. Josh said his chicken topped with crab imperial was perfect! I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and Josh got a glass of Chardonnay. We ended the evening with coffee and dessert. Josh got a cookies and cream cheese cake and I got a pyramid shaped concoction of raspberries, mousse, and cake. It was a gorgeous evening, almost cool, which reminded me of the weather the evening of our wedding.

As a gift, I got Josh the book To Cork or Not to Cork: Tradition, Romance, Science, and the Battle for the Wine Bottle. He loves non-fiction on an interesting subject that combines multiple disciplines. This looked like the book for him!

It was lovely to get out, just the two of us, and enjoy a leisurely dinner that didn’t require high chairs, cutting up food into little bites, and cleaning little dirty faces. And to fully be able to concentrate on our own conversation!

If you went out to dinner this year for your anniversary, what restaurant did you go to and would you recommend it?

I meant to tell you happy anniversary in person at church today, but it slipped my mind till after you were gone.
Your pictures are so sweet. I love sunflowers. So vibrant and unpretentious.

I had to chuckle at your dessert, though. I could do without the “mouse.” hehehhheheeee

Roy’s was our last fabulous anniversary dinner (Year 20). I think you recommended it, so thanks! Maybe we’ll do the Mtn Branch for number 22 in December.

I love the photos! We had dinner arrangements in downtown Annapolis for our anniversary. Chad and I were so hungry after arriving in Annapolis that we stopped for a drink and an appetizer at a Mexican restaurant and ate outside. It was a beautiful and warm day in April! Well, we were so stuffed from the drinks and chips that we ended up canceling our fancy dinner plans! We ended up getting a sandwich at the Hotel lobby restaurant at like 9 pm. Ha! But it was perfect.

Happy Anniversary! Ethan and I are about to celebrate our 10-year anniversary next weekend. Believe it or not, we’re heading to Paris… with the kids. It’s not ideal, but we wanted the kids to see Paris, and there’s no friends here that we’re willing to lose already by leaving our kids with them! πŸ™‚

Anyway, in Maryland, Ethan and I really loved MacGregors or that restaurant right next to it on the water in Havre de Grace to go to for special occasions.

Happy anniversary. You don’t know me… I’m a “lurker” and friend of Sara’s/fellow extern. Anyway… love the pictures you post and your boys are adorable!

We just celebrated our 6th anniversary… also our daughter’s 1st birthday (lucky us – she was born on our anniversary. πŸ™‚ LOL

We celebrated with a romantic dinner to the Melting Pot. Ever been there? It’s delicious!

They have one in Annapolis and Towson and a couple in DC. It’s a definite must at some point in everyone’s life. Especially if you love choclate. Their dessert is to die for!
