Emerging from Chaos

March 4, 2007

After two long weeks of non-stop work (especially for my hubby) the chaos was worth it! We’ve been working all the small addition but mostly inside, redoing the living room and babies’ room.

First, here’s the updated pictures of the kitchen extension:

We moved inside to point-up the walls, trim out the windows, add chair rail, crown molding, and paint the living room and babies’ room.

We had an adventure eating dinner on the couch, the only seating area in the house, besides the bed. Our dining room was storage for all of our items.

Below are pictures of the “finished” product. Still need to hang pictures and I want to add color with some mossy green accents (pillows, curtains, etc.) Also, we’re looking for an entertainment center so we can clean up the T.V. area. It’s been great to declutter and do my spring cleaning too, as a by product of this project! The black blob on the couch is Cuddles, our lazy kitty.

These last pictures are of the babies’ room (sorry for the bad lighting). The floors are in bad shape, but this room looks so much better now. We added the chair rail. Before it was a big white box. At least it’s empty now and I can organize as we get things. Thanks Beth for the dresser! It’ll work perfect once we get hardware!

Next we’re gearing up for the final push to finish the kitchen renovation and addition. Next weekend I’ll be packing up the kitchen and then Josh will start demo. But this week we’re taking it easy. Ahhh, a week to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I hope this week I’ll be able to post a little more.

Our cat’s name is Cuddles. I didn’t name her, my brother did. That’s not a name I’d pick out, but she showed up at my parent’s house and they all made friends with her. She started sleeping next to the house. They already had two cats at the time and didn’t want anymore, so we’d been thinking about getting a dog or cat so we took her. She is sooo funny. The name does fit her perfectly. I’ve never met such a NON stuck-up cat! She’s more like a dog. Following you around, playing hide-and-seek, and generally wanting to hang out with us.
