Last October and November the house looked something like this. I remember wishing I could put pumpkins on my porch or hang a Christmas wreath. But I kept reminding myself that next year I’d be able to do that, and all the mess would be worth it.

Over the weekend the boys got their first taste of rice cereal.
Owen wasn’t too sure what he thought about it.
He liked it better on his face than in his mouth.
Duncan was more sure of himself.
So sure, in fact, that he wants to feed himself his first spoonful.
He’s quite determined.
